Charles Ellicott Commentary
"I go mourning without the sun: I stand up in the assembly, and cry for help." — Job 30:28 (ASV)
I went mourning without the sun. —Rather, I go mourning without the sun; or, according to some, “blackened, but not by the sun.” We give preference to the other.
I stood up, and I cried in the congregation —that is, not merely in secret, but before all people.
