"By what way is the light parted, Or the east wind scattered upon the earth?" — Job 38:24 (ASV)

By what way is the light parted? — that is, distributed in turn to all the inhabitants of the earth.

The east wind. — As naturally suggested by the origin of light and the mention of it.
