"There arose a division again among the Jews because of these words." — John 10:19 (ASV)

There was a division therefore again . . .—The words refer us back to those of John 9:16, where a similar division was noted.

Among the Jews.—The Pharisees are mentioned before, and they are the people who have been present throughout this discourse. (Compare John 9:40.) The wider word is here, and in John 9:18, applied to them. They were identifying themselves with, and becoming leaders of, the party who were the enemies of Christ. (Compare Note on John 1:19.)
