"My Father, who hath given [them] unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father`s hand." — John 10:29 (ASV)
My Father, who gave them to Me (better, has given them to Me), is greater than all.—For the thought that they are given by the Father, compare the note on John 6:37.
Here, our version has rightly made no limiting addition to “all” (compare the last verse). In the scope of the word, which extends to every creature and to every power, and even to the Son in His subordination to the Father, the Father is thought of as greater than all.
