"I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness." — John 12:46 (ASV)

I am come a light into the world...—(Compare Note on John 12:35 and John 3:19; John 8:12; John 9:5; John 9:39; John 12:35–36.)

Should not abide in darkness.—But should, by walking according as they had the light, become sons of light (John 12:36).
