Charles Ellicott Commentary John 14:25

"These things have I spoken unto you, while [yet] abiding with you." — John 14:25 (ASV)

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.—Better, . . . while abiding with you. He was about to depart from them. He had been speaking to them words which they found it hard to understand. He now pauses in His teaching, and proceeds to tell them of the Holy Spirit who should interpret His words to them.
