"Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you." — John 15:14 (ASV)
Ye are my friends . . .—Stress should be placed upon the pronoun, “Ye are My friends . . .” “You are those of whom I have just spoken, and for whom I am about to give the greatest proof of love.”
If ye do whatsoever I command you.—Better, the things which I am commanding you, (Compare to John 14:21, John 14:23).
