"The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand." — John 3:35 (ASV)

The Father loveth the Son.—Compare the note on Matthew 11:27, which is remarkable as an instance of what we call distinctly Johannine thought and diction in the earlier Gospels. We will meet the words again in John 5:20.
