"And they said unto him, Where is he? He saith, I know not." — John 9:12 (ASV)

I do not know.—He had not returned to our Lord (John 9:7), who was passing by when He spoke to him (John 9:1), and by the time the man had gone to the pool and returned, He would have gone beyond where the man knew Him to be.
