SCRIPTURE

"When ye go, ye shall come unto a people secure, and the land is large; for God hath given it into your hand, a place where there is no want of anything that is in the earth." — Judges 18:10 (ASV)

To a large land. —Literally, wide on both hands (Genesis 34:11). This well describes the position of Tel el-Kadi. (See Notes on Judges 18:7; Judges 18:28).

God has given it into your hands.—Of this they feel confident, from the interpretation they made of the oracular response given them by Jonathan in Judges 18:6.
