SCRIPTURE

"Then answered the five men that went to spy out the country of Laish, and said unto their brethren, Do ye know that there is in these houses an ephod, and teraphim, and a graven image, and a molten image? now therefore consider what ye have to do." — Judges 18:14 (ASV)

Answered. —Equivalent to they said, as in Job 3:2, Zechariah 1:10.

Consider what ye have to do —that is, whether, and how, you would take possession of them. We notice in these Danite freebooters the same strange mixture of superstition and lawlessness, robbery, and devotion which has often been observed in Greek and Italian brigands.
