"(for my father fought for you, and adventured his life, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian:" — Judges 9:17 (ASV)

Adventured his life. —Literally, as in the margin, cast his life (Septuagint, εῤῥιψε), like the Latin projicere vitam (Lucan, Phars. iv. 516). Compare the reading paraboleusamenos in Philippians 2:30 and Isaiah 53:12: He hath poured out his soul unto death.
