Charles Ellicott Commentary Lamentations 5:19

"Thou, O Jehovah, abidest for ever; Thy throne is from generation to generation." — Lamentations 5:19 (ASV)

You, O Lord, remain. —Literally, You sit: that is, as the next clause shows, upon a throne. The lamentation is drawing to its close, and the mourner finds comfort in the thought of the eternity of God (Psalms 102:12), and therefore the unchangeableness of His purpose of love towards His people.
