SCRIPTURE

"Ye therefore shall keep my statutes and mine ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the home-born, nor the stranger that sojourneth among you;" — Leviticus 18:26 (ASV)

You shall therefore keep my statutes. —As the perpetration of the above-mentioned abominations entailed such disastrous consequences for both the land and its inhabitants, the strict observance of the Divine statutes is required of all alike, whether they are Israelites by race or strangers who settled among them and joined the Jewish community. (See Leviticus 17:9.)
