SCRIPTURE

"For whosoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people." — Leviticus 18:29 (ASV)

For whosoever shall commit. — This clause, according to the interpretation that prevailed during the Second Temple, specifies every individual and is intended to indicate that anyone, whether male or female, who is guilty, will incur the punishment prescribed for these sins.

Shall be cut off. — That is, if the transgression escapes the notice of the tribunal, God himself will inflict the punishment upon the criminals, since some of the crimes specified in this chapter are, according to Leviticus 20:0, to be visited with death by the hand of man.
