"No meal-offering, which ye shall offer unto Jehovah, shall be made with leaven; for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, as an offering made by fire unto Jehovah." — Leviticus 2:11 (ASV)

No meat offering. —Leviticus 2:11–13 add some general rules regarding meat offerings. Since honey was used in ancient times to produce fermentation, it is excluded, like fermented dough, from these offerings .
