Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"the soul that toucheth any such shall be unclean until the even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his flesh in water." — Leviticus 22:6 (ASV)
The soul that has touched. —Better, the man who has, that is, the priest for whom these laws are here enacted. Hence, the ancient Chaldee version renders it “the man a priest.”
Shall be unclean until evening. —When the day ends and another begins , and when he had to immerse his body in water.
