SCRIPTURE

"And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;" — Leviticus 26:27 (ASV)

And if he will not for all this hearken unto me. —Better, And if, notwithstanding these, you will not hearken unto me, that is, if in spite of these awful punishments they persist in rebellion against God. With this reiterated formula the fifth warning is introduced (Leviticus 26:27–33), which threatens the total destruction of the land and the people in the midst of the most appalling horrors.
