"And the fat of that which dieth of itself, and the fat of that which is torn of beasts, may be used for any other service; but ye shall in no wise eat of it." — Leviticus 7:24 (ASV)
And the fat of the beast that dies of itself. —That is, of the previously mentioned animals which died of any disease or accident, or were killed by wild beasts, and which, therefore, are entirely unclean (Leviticus 22:8), might be used for common purposes in ordinary life, such as making candles, etc.
