"With many other exhortations therefore preached he good tidings unto the people;" — Luke 3:18 (ASV)
Many other things . . .—This was, more or less, in the nature of the case; but Saint Luke’s is the only record that emphasizes the wider range of the Baptist’s teaching. The sources of information that supplied the material for Luke 3:10-14 probably also made him aware of much of a similar nature; but what he records, along with the other two Evangelists, was, so to speak, the main subject and core message of it all.
