"And if ye do good to them that do good to you, what thank have ye? for even sinners do the same." — Luke 6:33 (ASV)

If you do good to them . . .—Actual deeds of kindness take the place in St. Luke which in St. Matthew is occupied by the salutations which were but the outward signs of kindness.
