"But Jesus hearing it, answered him, Fear not: only believe, and she shall be made whole." — Luke 8:50 (ASV)

Believe only.—There is a slight difference in the shade of meaning of the Greek tense as compared with the corresponding command in Mark's report, the latter giving “Believe” as implying a permanent state—Be believing—Luke's report stressing the immediate act of faith.
