SCRIPTURE

"Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of Jehovah which he loveth, and hath married the daughter of a foreign god." — Malachi 2:11 (ASV)

For the same grouping of Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem, compare Zechariah 1:19.

The holiness of the Lord. — This refers to their own holy nation (Deuteronomy 7:6; Deuteronomy 14:2).

Daughter of a strange god — that is, one who worships a foreign god, and they were forbidden to marry such women (Exodus 24:16; Deuteronomy 7:3; compare 1 Kings 11:2).
