SCRIPTURE
"And they clothe him with purple, and platting a crown of thorns, they put it on him;" — Mark 15:17 (ASV)
They clothed him with purple.—The colour is called “purple” by St. Mark and St. John, “crimson” by St. Matthew. The two words probably indicated the same colour.
