Charles Ellicott Commentary Mark 6:31

"And he saith unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat." — Mark 6:31 (ASV)

Peculiar to St. Mark are:

1. the tender consideration of the invitation to rest awhile, and
2. the description of the throng of people as coming and going.
