Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"And from thence he arose, and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered into a house, and would have no man know it; and he could not be hid." — Mark 7:24 (ASV)
Tyre and Sidon.—The better manuscripts omit the latter name here, and reserve it for Mark 7:31, where see Note.
Entered into a house.—The fact is peculiar to St. Mark, and seems specified as an indication of our Lord’s wish to avoid publicity.
