Charles Ellicott Commentary
"And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to lay his hand upon him." — Mark 7:32 (ASV)
They bring to him one that was deaf.—The narrative that follows is peculiar to St. Mark. The locality is not named, but was probably somewhere near the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee.
Had an impediment in his speech.—The English rendering is quite accurate, but it may be noted that the word which St. Mark uses stands for dumb in the Greek version of Isaiah 35:6, and may therefore have been used by him to connect the miracle which he describes with that prophecy.
