"And Jesus perceiving it saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? do ye not yet perceive, neither understand? have ye your heart hardened?" — Mark 8:17 (ASV)

Have you your heart yet hardened?—This question is peculiar to St. Mark, as are also the first two questions in Mark 8:18. The expression of indignant astonishment is characteristically more vivid and emphatic in St. Mark’s report.
