"And one of the multitude answered him, Teacher, I brought unto thee my son, who hath a dumb spirit;" — Mark 9:17 (ASV)

A dumb spirit.—This, again, is peculiar to St. Mark, as is also gnashing of the teeth and pining or withering in the next verse.
