"And they came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house he asked them, What were ye reasoning on the way?" — Mark 9:33 (ASV)

And he came to Capernaum.—See Notes on Matthew 18:1-5. The arrival at Capernaum is given by St. Matthew in connection with the narrative of the didrachma or tribute money, which in his Gospel immediately precedes the one now before us. St. Mark alone records the previous dispute of the disciples, and the question which brought that dispute into the light of day.
