"And as ye enter into the house, salute it." — Matthew 10:12 (ASV)
When you come into a house — The English indefinite article is misleading. We must read “into the house,” that is, the dwelling of the man who had been reported as worthy. The salutation, as the words that follow imply, was the familiar, “Peace be with you—Peace be to this house” (Luke 10:5).
