SCRIPTURE

"A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord." — Matthew 10:24 (ASV)

The disciple is not above his master — The proverb was likely a common one and is used by our Lord (John 13:16; John 15:20) with more than one application. Here the thought is, “Do not be amazed or discouraged by these prophecies of evil days; in all your sufferings you will only be following in My footsteps; what they have said and done to Me, they will say and do to you also.”
