Charles Ellicott Commentary

Charles Ellicott Commentary
"For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." — Matthew 11:30 (ASV)
Easy — The Greek word has a wider range of meaning: good, helpful, kind, and profitable.
My burden is light — The "burden" of Christ was the commandment that most characterized His teaching: the new commandment that people should love one another. Those who obeyed that commandment would find that everything it required of them was light and easy.
