Charles Ellicott Commentary
"And blessed is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me." — Matthew 11:6 (ASV)
Blessed is he — The words at once confirm the view that the question the messengers brought came from the Baptist himself, and show how tenderly our Lord dealt with the impatience it implied. A warning was needed, but it was given in the form of a beatitude that he could still claim and make his own. Not to find a stumbling block in the way the Christ had actually come was the condition for entering fully into the blessedness of His kingdom.
