SCRIPTURE

"Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea." — Matthew 13:51 (ASV)

Have you understood all these things? The verb is the same as that used in the parable of the Sower. A spiritual and intellectual grasp of the truth is the necessary condition for the growth in wisdom that enables a disciple to eventually become a teacher.

The disciples' answer doubtless contained a grateful awareness of their rapid increase in knowledge and insight. There was also a certain child-like naïveté in how readily they declared their conviction that they had mastered all the mysteries of the kingdom, which had been veiled beneath the symbolism of these earthly parables.
