"And when the men of that place knew him, they sent into all that region round about, and brought unto him all that were sick," — Matthew 14:35 (ASV)

And when the men of that place — We have to remember, though we will not discuss it here, the fact that it was here, in the synagogue of Capernaum, that our Lord, meeting with those who had seen the miracle of the loaves, led them into that higher region of spiritual truth which the discourse of John 6:22-65 brings before us. The manifestation of divine power in the works of healing coincided with the divine wisdom revealed in the new teaching.
