Charles Ellicott Commentary
"naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me." — Matthew 25:36 (ASV)
You visited me — The Greek word is somewhat stronger than the modern meaning of the English and includes “looking after” and “caring for.” The verb is formed from the same root as Episcopos, the bishop or overseer of the Church.
