SCRIPTURE

"He saved others; himself he cannot save. He is the King of Israel; let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on him." — Matthew 27:42 (ASV)

He saved others — The mockers, as before , bear unconscious witness to the truth. They referred, perhaps, to the works of healing and the raising of the dead which had been performed in Galilee and Jerusalem, but their words were true in an even higher sense. He had come into the world to save others, regardless of Himself.
