"And many women were there beholding from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:" — Matthew 27:55 (ASV)

Many women were there watching—This group was obviously distinct from that of “the daughters of Jerusalem” (Luke 23:28), but was probably identical to the one mentioned in Luke 8:2-3, which accompanied our Lord on many of His journeys.
