"saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept." — Matthew 28:13 (ASV)
His disciples came by night —The story was self-contradictory on its face. How could they tell who had stolen the body if they had been asleep? All they could have known was that they had fallen asleep, and that when they awoke, the tomb was open and empty.
