"Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a scant measure that is abominable?" — Micah 6:10 (ASV)
The scant measure. — Literally, the hateful ephah of leanness — that is, less than it should be. The Jews were very prone to the falsification of weights and measures. They made the ephah small, and the shekel great, falsifying the balances by deceit (Amos 8:5).
