"For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth." — Micah 6:12 (ASV)

The rich men of this place — that is, of the city. The sins of exploitation and fraud were practiced by men who had not even the pitiable excuse of poverty and distress.
