SCRIPTURE

"Then mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said unto me, Where is Jehovah thy God? Mine eyes shall see [my desire] upon her; now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets." — Micah 7:10 (ASV)

Now shall she be trodden down. —The enemy that had taunted the Jews with the powerlessness of Jehovah would be trodden down when the Jews were delivered. Such was the experience of Sennacherib, who inquired contemptuously whether the Lord could deliver Jerusalem out of his hand.
