Charles Ellicott Commentary
"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah will be a light unto me." — Micah 7:8 (ASV)
O my enemy. —The Hebrew word is strictly a female enemy , and is used of enemies collectively. The cities of Babylon and Edom are probably intended. They are mentioned together in Psalm 137: Remember, O Lord, the children of Edom. ... O Babylon, that art to be destroyed. The fall of those cities should be final, but Jerusalem would rise again.
