"And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff of Tobiah out of the chamber." — Nehemiah 13:8 (ASV)

It grieved me deeply. —The second time we read of Nehemiah’s deep emotion: first, because of the utter dissoluteness of which this was a sign; and secondly, because it was a priestly desecration.
