Charles Ellicott Commentary Numbers 3:48

"and thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons." — Numbers 3:48 (ASV)

And you shall give the money ... — The verse may be rendered thus: And you shall give the money to Aaron and to his sons: even the redemption money of those who are over and above among them.
