"And they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth thereon:" — Numbers 4:13 (ASV)

And they shall take away the ashes from the altar. —In Exodus 27:3 we find a direction to make pans for removing the ashes from the brazen altar, and also to make all the brazen vessels mentioned in the next verse.
