Charles Ellicott Commentary Proverbs 11:29

"He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind; And the foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart." — Proverbs 11:29 (ASV)

He that troubles his own house—Possibly by his miserliness and avarice, as Proverbs 15:27.

Shall inherit the wind—Will get nothing for his pains.

The fool (‘evîl)—The self-willed, who will listen to no advice, and so comes to ruin.
