SCRIPTURE

"There is grievous correction for him that forsaketh the way; [And] he that hateth reproof shall die." — Proverbs 15:10 (ASV)

Correction is grievous.— Rather, There is a grievous correction for him who forsakes the (right) way; first of all, punishment for the sake of “correction” (Leviticus 26:14 and following verses), and then, lastly, in the case of obstinate hatred of “reproof,” death (in the same place, Proverbs 15:33).
