Charles Ellicott Commentary Proverbs 16:15

"In the light of the king`s countenance is life; And his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain." — Proverbs 16:15 (ASV)

A cloud of the latter rain.— This fell at the end of March, maturing the barley and wheat crops before the harvest in April. It was eagerly looked for as of great importance. (Compare to Psalm 72:6 for the same figure.)
